Hubert Hurkacz and Czech Jakub Mensik lost 5:7, 6:7 (1-7) in the first round of the ATP tournament in Rotterdam with the “three” of Italy Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassorim, finalists of this year’s Australian Open. The match lasted an hour and 26 minutes.

Both pairs won the gems for a long time after their passes. Such a state lasted until the eleventh gem, when Hurkacz sent a decisive ball in the car. Later, the rivals took the first opportunity to win the set, which lasted 40 minutes. In the second, slightly longer party, there was no breaking of the application and the tie-break decided the success of one side. In it, the Italians’ dominance was not subject to discussion.

Hurkacz last appeared in the doubles at the beginning of June last year. Together with Italian Jannik Sinner, they fell off in the quarter-finals of the ATP tournament in Halle. Despite the ambitious fight, they had to recognize the superiority of the French duo Fabien Reboula and Sadio Doumbii.

In the doubles game Jan Zieliński, paired with Belgian Sander Gill, will start playing in Rotterdam on Wednesday. The rivals will be Croatian Ivan Dodig and Chinese Zhizhen Zhang.

On the same day, Hurkacz (ATP 21st) in singles in second round will play Czech Jiri Lehecka (ATP 24).
