Full Chiefs 7-round mock: Should K.C. look to prospects from Mizzou, Kansas, and Kansas State?

The Kansas City Chiefs picked Kansas State edge rusher Felix Anudike-Uzomah with their first-round pick last year, much to the delight of Wildcat fans in Manhattan. The 2023 NFL Draft was held in Kansas City, and Anudike-Uzomah seemed like a logical selection for the Chiefs given that he grew up in Lee’s Summit and played in Manhattan. But, to many fans, the hype behind general manager Brett Veach’s decision to take him fell flat when Anudike-Uzomah failed to crack the starting lineup.

Perhaps Veach’s propensity for taking local products who played their college ball relatively close to home will prove to be limited to one draft, but with several elite prospects from Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas State set to become available this year, he may choose to adopt the same strategy in 2024.Check out this full seven-round Chiefs mock draft that has Veach exclusively selecting players from schools in Missouri and Kansas
