Paris Olympics 2024: World No.1 Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff advanced to the third round at Roland Garros after beating Diane Parry and Maria Loudres Carla.

Iga Swiatek made her way through to the third round of the tennis women’s singles at Paris Olympics 2024. On Monday, July 29, the World No.1 beat Diane Parry 6-1, 6-1 at Philippe Chatrier in the second round. It also happened to the Pole’s 49th win this year and her 21st victory in a row on clay. The last time Swiatek lost at Roland Garros was back in 2021, when she lost to Maria Sakkari in the quarter-finals.

Swiatek, who has four French Open titles to her name, will next be up against China’s Xiyu Wang, who got the better of AIN’s Diana Shnaider, in the second round. It took the Polish star only an hour and 14 minutes to get the better of Parry on Centre Court. The 23-year-old Swiatek converted five of her 11 break point chances and did not give Parry even a single chance to break her serve.
