As of early October 2024, several top athletes have secured their spots for the WTA Finals, which will be held for the first time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 2-9. The event will feature the top eight singles players and doubles teams of the year.

Iga Świątek, the World No. 1, was the first to qualify. Her impressive season includes five titles, including the French Open, and she will be making her fourth consecutive appearance at the Finals. Świątek’s consistent dominance, including a 21-match win streak during the clay and grass seasons, has cemented her position as one of the tournament favorites.

Aryna Sabalenka, currently ranked No. 2, has also qualified. Sabalenka has had a remarkable 2024, winning two Grand Slam titles, including the US Open, and competing fiercely to reclaim the top spot from Świątek.

Coco Gauff joined the qualified players after her stunning run in 2024, which saw her capture titles at the US Open and the China Open. Her 1,000-point boost from winning the China Open solidified her place in the WTA Finals. This will be a significant opportunity for Gauff to compete on one of the biggest stages at the end of a breakthrough season.

Others in contention include Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula, both of whom are on the verge of qualifying based on their current rankings
