Taylor Swift has continued her tradition of donating to food banks on her Eras Tour stops, by giving to the Cardiff Foodbank charity.
The charity has thanked the US artist on social media, saying the donation was “beyond [their] Wildest Dreams.”
The recording-breaking singer took to the Principality Stadium stage on Tuesday night, wowing fans with her Eras Tour setlist for more than three hours.
Swift’s Cardiff gig was the only single-date concert of her mega-selling 152-date Eras Tour.
Speaking about the donation, the CEO of Cardiff Foodbank, Rachel Biggs said: “We are thrilled that Taylor Swift has decided to support Cardiff Foodbank to leave a lasting and positive impact on Cardiff.
Rachel said she agreed with Taylor’s team not to discuss the amount donated, but that it was “a generous amount, that will make a huge difference.”
The Trussell Trust Network in Wales distributed more than 187,000 emergency food parcels to people in need last year, with more than 20,000 of those given out by Cardiff Foodbank to people across the Welsh capital.
“Taylor’s donation and support has helped to put the spotlight on the ever-growing need for food banks – and we’re so grateful for her support,” Rachel added.
Rachel said the singer’s team passed on her “personal thanks to everyone working at Cardiff Foodbank for what they do.”
The organisation has nine members of staff, and 200 volunteers.
Now, the charity is encouraging people to take inspiration from the Love Story singer, and to donate to local food banks.
“If you can continue Taylor’s legacy, I would encourage you to donate to your local food bank wherever you are in Wales.”
