Sensation in Abu Dhabi! Jelena Rybakina dropped out of the 157th WTA ranking Belinda Bencic in the semi-finals of the tournament. A Kazakh placed with the number one from the beginning of the season cannot stabilize the form, which may be influenced by non-sports matters.

A year ago, Rybakina started the season with a triumph in Brisbane. Then she had a mishare in the second round of the Australian Open, but quickly rehabilitated, winning the tournament in Abu Dhabi.

This season, the 25-year-old no longer dominates hard courts as she has become accustomed to it. In Friday’s match against Belinda Bencic it was again visible. However, Bencic did not intend to give up – she had three chances to break through, but Rybakina defended herself and a moment later she closed the set with a score of 6:3.

Po przerwie Kazaszka szybko straciła serwis, a Szwajcarka genialnie serwowała, bez problemu utrzymując przewagę. Kazaszka nie zdołała już odwrócić losów drugiej partii, przegrywając 3:6.

Najwięcej emocji przyniósł decydujący set, który był prawdziwym festiwalem przełamań. Najpierw serwis straciła Rybakina, ale natychmiast odrobiła stratę, by zaraz znów oddać swoje podanie. W całym spotkaniu Rybakina broniła aż 13 break pointów, z których wygrała dziewięć. Z kolei Bencic dopuściła do zagrożenia przełamaniem tylko w sześciu akcjach. Trzy z nich wygrała.

Nie jest tajemnicą, że Rybakina przeżywa obecnie trudne chwile. Po krótkiej współpracy rozstała się z trenerem Goranem Ivaniseviciem, a jej poprzedni i jednocześnie aktualny trener Stefano Vukov ma kłopoty z WTA. Chorwat został tymczasowo zawieszony za złamanie Kodeksu Postępowania.
